I'd love to have some more input from you if possible Backtracker? Since noticing these trackers earlier today I have fallen for them. Would love to own one someday..... How much would I be looking at and how long from start to finish (weekends) Regards Dan
Hi backtracker, I have restored 2 of these bikes now, on the last 1999 model I am short of the speedo surround, is this something you would have about you and would sell on to me, please check out my facebook page.Roy Hall profile pic is of the second domi 58 Marco tribute
Hi, the last donor nx was a 1995 "s" model with only 7k miles in black. I still have all the panels etc you can have everything for £50 if you like. Cheers.
HI Dan, appreciate the comments. Each bike typically takes about 250 hours, the cost is down to you really I spend thousands but you don't have to. Good luck.
Hi, I love your work. I'd be grateful if you could advise if an slr650 rear wheel will fit a dommie. My 99 nx650 rear is shot and I'm trying to find a cheap fix - can't find dommie wheels for sale but there are a few slr650 rears on ebay. best regards. Can't wait to see number 8 ;-)
Hi again Andrew, Good luck with the latest build! I think I speak for all NX650 tracker/scrambler builders when I say, "thank you" for taking the time to share so much information. You mention retaining the stock rear shock and lowering the sub frame. You also mention lowering the forks about 2" with spacers and about another 2" in the triple clamps. That's a radical change in steering head angle, has it caused any steering problems? Cheers, Pete
Hi, thanks for the kind words. The steering doesn't radically change but it is affected in a good way though. The bike feels alot more nimble and is great in traffic. Thanks again.
Hi Gareth, had intended to hang on to this one for the summer, I do however have an idea for another project I would like to make a start on (not another dominator) so may consider selling. Many thanks.
Awesome, cant wait to see it. You getting quicker at it every time?
ReplyDeleteYes, still takes ages but my time is much more productive and I know exactly what I need and where to get it.
